I would say yes as Omega 3 is essential fatty acid. Essential means our body cannot produce and it has to be taken in the form of food and nutrient only Omega 3 is antiinflammatory. Also to take Vitamin C in more amounts like fruits, raw vegetables and as much as possible, Vitamin C supplements as Vitamin C is required to throw the uric acid from the system. Omega 3 and Vitamin C are antioxidants that are the protective nutrients. They can be taken without fear as our body needs nutrients to safeguard our body. So you can take Omega 3 even if you have uric acid also. So stay healthy.

Sunflower Seeds

Sunflower seeds are the fruit of a Sunflower. The sunflower plant has yellow flowers, broad leaves, and usually grow from 5 to 7 feet tall. They have a relatively short growing season usually taking from 90 to 120 days to reach maturity.

The head of the sunflower contains 1000 to 2000 tiny flowers each eventually producing a seed. Sunflowers prefer long hot summers to flower well. Ukraine is the top producer of sunflower seeds.

¼ cup of sunflower seeds provides 204 calories, 18g of fat, 7g of carbs, 7g of protein, 3g of fiber, and 0.92g of sugar. Sunflower seeds have a phenomenal micronutrient profile, providing more that 10% of the RDA of 5 different vitamins, and 7 different minerals.

Since sunflower seeds are so high in so many vitamins and minerals, they help benefit bones, skin, chemical reactions needed for proper cell function, mood enhancement and cardiovascular health. Since sunflower seeds are high in vitamin E, they are also considered an antioxidant rich food, which means, they help fight free radicals.

Sunflower seeds are a cheap healthy snack. A 16oz 1lb bag of organic raw sunflower seeds usually costs about $4 to $5. That would provide you with about 13 ¼ cup servings, equating to about $0.38 per serving.

Sunflower seeds go great with raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries, giving you a good mix of fats, carbs, and protein. They are also a great salad ingredient, adding protein and healthy fats.

There is only one downside to sunflower seeds. While they provide a good mix of healthy mono and polyunsaturated fats, their polyunsaturated fats are almost entirely made up of omega 6 fatty acids, with very little omega 3’s. Since most western diets have awful omega 6 to omega 3 ratios, this would be the only concern about this food item.
