  1. 精神病は診断の欠点は、一つの事象に対して過剰な診断を行い、その症状に病名を与えることで病気にしてしまうことだ。

  2. Me: I think I’m a normal, happy guy.
Dr.: No you’re not. You’re delusional and prone to grandiosity!

Jordan Peterson says that psych. evaluations are highly overrated and too often inaccurate. I believe him.

  3. If somehow, you can crack the faces they've hidden just by a feeling of discomfort or just by a gut feeling that this person is not what they seem, trust it with all your heart and up your guards to maximum. Calm, cool and collective is the key.

The consequences of being manipulated by someone might just be the end of you, either psychologically and physically, it just truly just an horrific and traumatized experience, and it WILL get downward from the moment you knew you hooked.

  4. When a mental disorder crosses the line of being disruptive to your life, it becomes a mental illness. That's why psychopathy isn't classified as a "mental illness" because most sociopaths or psychopaths live fairly normal, productive lives. Since psychopathy is not an official mental disorder, the condition experts diagnose it as ASPD.

  5. I think we need to stop diagnosing disorders because like he said, there are so many gray areas, but instead start diagnosing symptoms, their causes, effects, and how to treat them. I interviewed several people about their childhood and adult behaviors and attempted to diagnose their attachment styles, and found that people are rarely mostly one type of style. You go through a checklist and you find out that people are definitely a few of them, kind of a couple more, and definitely not the rest, What you're left with is people that are sort of this and somewhat that, but not definitively anything. So we're diagnosing patients who are 20% something because it fits our narratives or areas we specialize in. My points being, don't try to label yourself as any specific disorder like GAD or something like that, focus on your symptoms and how it affects you and learn from those specific effects, not some broad disorder.

  6. The idea of psychopathy is a creation of the criminal "justice" system as opposed to psychiatry. No diagnostic manual has psychopathy has a diagnosis. Antisocial personality disorder is the closest. I personally think the concept needs some work, but Tony wouldn't qualify for it. Because people with ASPD can pretty easily be driven to breaking their persona and aren't successful, unlike the supposed psychopaths in the corporate world. Although I also think there's a pretty big logical flaw when it comes to including mental illnesses other than psychosis (which introduced false information and confuses cause and effect) into the consideration for criminal insanity. When you have the most brutal crimes, they typically don't have motives that can be easily understood by the general public. Why do some of them go to criminal psychiatric hospitals and others go to prison? There has to be some kind of variation from the typical neurology to start killing strangers for little personal benefit. We just have no idea what it is. We need to move to a rehabilitation focused criminal justice system and do the research to figure out what kind of conditions make you do what crimes, and how we can treat them. Then we can let people out once they're no longer a threat, either by working on their internal or external reality. Not all insanity pleas are life sentences. John Hinckley Jr, the guy who tried to kill Reagan, was determined by a forensic psychologist to no longer be a threat. His schizophrenia was controlled. It took until 2016 until the courts believed it. He's got a youtube channel where he posts music now. We just need to get that system working.

  7. there are great points in this
    – sometimes, people overanalyze things
    – you can eventually turn into the person you “hate”
    – let’s just say the media or everyone else will always nitpick on other’s business
”You shouldn’t define people based on their maddest edges”
